Vertebrates on the Brink

This project represents two approaches to displaying the IUCN’s data on highly endangered vertebrate species, with the layout and design reflecting those of a report. The first design emphasizes the geographical distribution of different vertebrate types. The second looks at overall distribution while drilling down on four representative species. If I were to iterate further on this project, I would find a way to show absolute numbers of species in the first design (perhaps using clustered bars), and I would visually encode another channel of pertinent data in the second.
